It is located along the street of the same name, outside Porta San Marco, on the road to Grosseto. Interestingly, despite being quite large and abundant in water, it is virtually unknown to most people, as no documents of any kind have survived about it. It also has its own source, which feeds it as it advances into the valley toward Porta San Marco.
At the base of the hills on which Siena stands, in the small area of San Carlo, near the Siena Ovest exit, you can admire this small and simple fountain, evocative and abundant in water. It is linked to the presence of an ancient mill, remembered by the name of the nearby Church of San Carlo ai Mugnai.
