DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION

The painting depicting Saint Christopher, created by the Sienese painter Niccolò Franchini around 1755, is located inside the Church of Sant'Agostino.

Saint Christopher is depicted as the protector of wayfarers, often depicted with the Child Jesus on his shoulders.

The work is housed in one of the chapels in the transept of the church, which was renovated internally according to a design by architect Luigi Vanvitelli between 1747 and 1755, following a fire.
